fiddlehead-mittens2One of the things that I want to learn how to do this year is fair isle (or stranded) knitting.  I have done some research, watched some tutorials and feel like I can totally handle this type of knitting.  Since I have been eyeing the Fiddlehead Mittens for quite some time, I have officially decided that this will be my very first fair isle project!  Since it is Malabrigo March, I am going to make these with malabrigo of course – Praline for the main color and Bobby Blue for the contrast color.  Only going to use two colors the first time around in an attempt to make this less confusing.  These mittens are so popular that they even have a Flickr site dedicated to people who have made these.  As soon as I actually successfully cast on and figure out fair isle knitting, I will post the tutorials I used.  Wish me luck!
